The ChaplaincyDo you feel you face the uncertain and the unknown? Are there stroing feelings around, which are prompting deep questions and thoughts? Do old certainties lie shattered? The role of the Chaplain is to be there for you - to listen, to receive, to be a sounding board for you, whether or not you have specific needs. You may feel life has become meaningless, unjust or unfair. Your values or faith may now seem worthless, leaving you feeling vulnerable. There may even be feelings of guilt for things in the past, or the way the present is being handled. Talking things over with a sympathetic and experienced listener can provide a focus for your questions. It can help you identify and analyse the issues that are troubling you. It can help you to resolve them. Though the Chaplain is a Christian, he is able to respect and respond to other world views; to those who are believers and those who are agnostic. The Chaplain can be for you, a companion in adversity, a comforter, a spiritual counsellor, a source of support and encouragement. If you would like further information telephone the Chaplain on 01707 330686. |
